Nobody Knows Us Anyway
Dressed for Warmth

March 16 - Day 16 91.6 miles total miles 861
After a hardy breakfast of eggs and hash browns, we left the warmth of Black Range Lodge at 8:30 am and 34 degree weather to start our long ride to Las Cruces, NM.
In the crisp morning ride, the only meetings were with a wolf, a fox and a road runner but the cool descent did wake us up. As you can see we were dressed for warmth this morning. Lynda especially was decked out.
Today was spent riding along side of the Rio Grande. The fields along the banks were very green while the fields along the road were freshly cultivated and drenched and planted with white skinned onions.
This is chili country too as we passed packing plant after packing plant. But no chilies in the field. We learned an interesting fact about New Mexico today.
Most states have a state flower and a state bird and a state tree and etc but NM is the only state that has a state question....Red or Green??
Chilies everywhere.
We had lunch in Hatch, the chili capital of the world. Pam has finally converted Lynda to a chimachanga lover.
