Ennis, Ireland

  Posted by Picasa

After long delays in NYC, we finally arrived in Dublin, Ireland to clear immigration, then a short flight onto Shannon. Our tour greeter was very worried about us as our flight was over an hour late and added to that John’s suitcase did not arrive so we had to make a lost luggage claim.

But all the waits were worth it for our hotel, the Old Ground Hotel, in Ennis was a delightful surprise. The hotel was built in the early 18th century as a private dwelling. After a very colorful history, it became a hotel in 1885.

It is located in the heart of old Ennis. This gave us the perfect opportunity to explore and snoop in the shops. Of course when in Ireland you must eat in a pub, so we started that right away.

We are travel weary so will make a short night of our first day in Ireland.

But the good news its that John's luggage is found and will meet us at our next stop.
