My Family Helps Me Get Outfitted

The Christmas Gear Posted by Hello

Happy New Year to You All!

With the holidays and all the activities that go with this time of year, I have been slacking off and not riding everyday. But, I did have a very good holiday season.
Everyone, family and friends, are excited about my upcoming adventure and are helping me in every way to succeed. They showered me with lots of biking presents at Christmas. I now look like a real pro biker as I wear my new biking shoes that fit into my speedplay pedals. I was definitely time to throw away my grungy sneakers. Martina will be happy as she was always nagging at me about wearing tie shoes. She had horror stories about the laces becoming undone and getting tangled in the bike chain. Of course to wear with my new shoes, I also have a collection of snazzy biking socks, including USA - red, white and blue ones to inspire me as I bike the long roads. My favorites are the ones with little red road bikes (like my bike) along the band.
My new bike computer, a V100A, has every function and feature on it except automatic pedal power. Aside from the traditional automatic speed, avg spd, max spd, odometer, etc... it also gives temperature, cadence, and ***current, maximum altitude with altitude gain and percent grade with % grade up/down. This is great as I can now discover how steep these hills that I am riding really are. Another handy gadget that I received is the rescueFS multi tool. Ever since my chain broke, I have been a bit leery not having a chain tool. This gadget has everyting with box, spoke and allen wrenches, screwdriver, tire levers, the chain tool, and even a bottle opener.
Included in the gifts were also an array of biking clothes (shorts, safety vest, bike glasses and a waterproof biking jacket). The jacket is packed on my bike as I have been caught out in a FL downpour and it is not fun.

Needless to say, my family are very supportive and I love them for that. Thank you.
