Onward to the East
Easy ride thru ghost town country

Day 7 - March 7th - 55 miles
We left Salome "where she danced" for an easy ride to Wickenburg at 8:08am.
The cool morning and the previous day's rain made the desert come alive in a palette of colors. We finally learned some of the names of the flowers: owl's clover, desert daisy, verbane and numerous cacti.
John found a cafe for us to stop and have a snack, use the restroom etc. But once inside Big Mamas' Country Kitchen, both Lynda and Pam knew they were going to have homemade pie. So what if it was 10:30 am. Lynda had blueberry pie loaded down with rich vanilla ice cream while Pam had hot peach pie minus the ice cream. John had eggs, bacon, hash browns and pancakes imprinted with a bicyclist. What a treat for all of us.
The rest of the day was fairly uneventful as we continued to marvel at the beauty of the desert and of couse stopping at every historical landmark along the way.
Tonight's stop was at the Best Western Rancho Grande in Wickenburg.
