Tour of the Burren

 


Our Guide Shane Connelly

Today we met Shane Connelly who took us on walk/hike up to the burren. This area is known as the Burren meaning rocky coast in Irish. Shane pointed out the plant life in the area and explained that this area is one of the few place on earth where Artic, Mediterranean and alpine plants thrive side by side.

Needless to say, at the furthest point from our bikes and water proof gear the skies opened up and we got a soaking. Shane considered this a typical Irish misting.
