Stars in Our Eyes
The TV Star Look

Day 9 - March 9th 45.8 miles total 460 miles
We started late because we thought we had an easy 50 miles to go to Mesa from the north west corner of Phoenix. Barely on the road after our 8:40 am departure, Marty from the NNPDF called to say that he had contacted the local TV stations about our trip. What a great surprise to have Marty do this for us.
Local News Channel 3 called and were interested in meeting up with us. Barely a mile down the road and the NBC affiliate KPNX-TV called and wanted to meet up with us also.
Were we flying on cloud nine or want? After numerous bathroom breaks (nerves), we met up with Channel 12 at the end of the path. Will post the link when we get it so you can view the interview. Kim and Troy did a great job and really made us look important. Thank you, Kim and Troy.
An hour later, we met up with Nolan from Channel 3. He was very efficient and also did a wonderful job. Thank you Nolan, it was great meeting you. Both airings were so different but I hope inspire others not to their put dreams off to another day.
All this happened within the first 20 miles of our day. The day got hotter and we still had 30 miles to go.
Lots of sun screen and we made it to the Country Inn and Suites. John had a bottle of chilled champagne waiting to celebrate.
We will sleep well tonight in preparation for our 90 mile day tomorrow.
