Kilmurvey House

This rambling 200-year-old stone farmhouse is our home for the night on the island. At the foot of Dún Aengus fort, the old stone house was the family home of the "Ferocious O'Flahertys" . The warm, chatty owner, Treasa Joyce, is a descendant of the famed warrior clan. (they are the richest family on the island and own the land that the fort sits on)
Early on the morning of July 2, she taught a group of us how to make proper Irish scones.
