Louisiana Hills
Louisiana Hills

Day1, April 10
86.2 miles 2349 total miles
Who would have thought that there were hills in Louisiana? We were expecting an easy day of riding the backroads for our anticipated 100 miles. First came the gentle 5-10 mph winds from the southeast (the direction we were traveling). Then came the rolling hills. Our elevation gain was 5174 feet so you know we had lots of hills. The backroads were great to travel on as there was little traffic. The dogs all seemed to be fenced in or sleeping - so no dog chases to contend with.
A positive to the day: a bridge was out for repairs and not even a bike could make it across. This saved us 15 miles on a long day.
